Who was I created to be from the very beginning? Part 1
Perhaps you have been wondering about the situations in your life, maybe some of the events that have taken place that have seemed unfair and unjustified? Do you want to find a way out of some mistakes you have made in the past or just recently? Do you feel trapped?
The world is a restless place with many attractive lifestyles and lots to get distracted by. What about our lives as individuals? What have we done to influence our world? Or have we been so caught up in moving ahead that we've gotten distracted from what really matters. The Bible has a lot to say about all of these concerns and issues.
Mathew 6:31-33 (KJV) Says in paraphrase, that we should not take thought or worry about our needs being met, for God already knows we have need of many things. However in verse 33 the Lord instructs us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and that all these things (our day by day needs) shall be added unto us besides.
As children of God we have a right to live without problems gaining over us or lacking any good thing. Fear is not from God but it is a spirit as the Bible tells us that is sent by our adversary Satan. God promises us that if we stick around to hear what He has to say as Jesus told us: John 8:32-33 ... If you continue in my Word, then are you are my disciples indeed, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. The Bible is the Word of God but it is also referred to as the Word of Truth. It contains the entire plan of God for mankind and it gives us a perfect picture of who God is and what he feels toward us his creation.
We can get a better look at what God intends for us by looking at what he had prepared for Adam and Eve in the Garden before the choice was made to sin against God.
In the beginning God created heaven and earth, he created day and night, firmament or dry land, and the waters. He filled the earth with vegetation and with every moving creature he gave life. He created the perfect home for his most cherished and beloved of all creation. Genesis 1:26 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Sounds nice doesn't it? How God created man originally with the plan of having dominion over the earth and all its inhabitants?
Well that was the plan. God created man for fellowship; Adam and Eve sojourned with God without fear or any awareness of being inferior, they lived in the Lord's company and in perfect peace. God was always the character of the Father we see Him as today through our relationship with Christ Jesus but at one time that was lost, when the first sin happened. Originally, God longed to have intimacy and time spent sharing his heart with his children. All this was changed however when Adam and Eve first sinned. By eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, man cursed himself with an awareness of evil that he had not had before. When Adam and Eve had partaken of this fruit they no longer saw themselves as they were perfect but rather saw themselves as inferior to God and took upon themselves a fallen nature.
When the Lord approached them for a walk in the garden and for fellowship they hid from him. Genesis tells us that they were afraid to approach God. The earth that had always been intended for Adam to preside over was shortchanged as Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden. In turn Satan took Adam's place as Overseer of the Earth. Adam made that choice and by choosing sin condemned himself to the effects of death. The Lord was forced to close off the garden where the Tree of Life was located for (get this) if Adam had consumed that fruit he would have been cursed by life eternal in a fallen state and would have no opportunity for redemption. The Lord is perfect and there is no darkness in Him so his perfect fellowship with Adam was cut off by sin. Adam's choice to sin could have caused him eternal damnation, but God devised a plan of restoring Adam through blood sacrifices as a type and foreshadow of the blood of Jesus that would one day be spilled and allow Adam to return to perfect fellowship with God the Father. This was the plan that was intented that all mankind would choose God's way of escape, through the finished work of Jesus and out of his compassion on man to drive him out of the Garden and outside into another realm of existence never originally intended for mankind as the only possible route for man to one day soujourn with God again.
The reality of suffering and physical death took the place of authority that Adam and Eve once had. Their new awareness of being made beneath and below the position of what they once were, was living under the newly empowered Satan who would have precedence over the earth until Adam's period of allotted dominion would one day come to an end. Part of this new fallen awareness was the curse and the operation of death. Adam and Eve were now subject to death in their physical bodies aswell as eternal death or eternal separation from God.
Fast forward to today, Christ came to redeem us from sin and death. The Bible tells us the wages for sin is death. Christ had to spill his perfect and holy blood to be the payment, the full payment for our ransom. He literally came to pay the full price that we owed for the sin debt of the entire world. He lived to be the ultimate sacrifice that so if any man would choose to humble himself and repent of his sin and receive the Lordship of Jesus Christ, that that man would be saved. However the Bible doesn't say that Jesus only died to save us. The Bible says Jesus died to redeem us and remit our sins. The blood of Jesus has the power not only to cleanse of any wrong doing, but it has the power to restore us back to the position of authority once granted to Adam over the earth and more specifically above the attacks and devices of Satan our adversary.
The New Covenant or New Testament of the fulfillment of restoration to the blood bought redeemed believers, or the Church; God gave us a new way as believers to live. We now have the power and authority over principality and we have a new blood sealed covenant to ensure our rights to eternal life in this life and in the one to come. We now have the name of Jesus, and His blood to declare what outcome we need in our lives to come to pass. We now have a new nature, the nature of Christ Jesus himself.
